Special Edition-- The Dark Knight Is Awesome

Okay so I know that this an off topic thing for my blog but let's call this a... Special Edition

Warning Spoilers Ahead

Okay so I thought that this film was epic. I just wish I could have seen it in Imax. I went in expecting a Comic Book film and saw a complex crime drama with three very famillar yet unique characters. The cinemotagraphy was wide and sweeping vistas and close shots seem to be amazing. And the cast was at the top of their game on the screen.

The opening Bank Heist was a well executed sequence. I loved the way that the Joker was revealed. And the line of Buses that he joined into was just so hilarious.

I think that the Joker was by far the best portrayal. Heath Ledger obviously got deep into the role. There is something deeply twisted about the joker. But the way the makeup wears on his face and his demeanor just seem so deep. Yet unlike Tim Burton's "Batman" this Joker is much more edgy and has much less of a backstory. It seems like Nolan has decided to make him a Loki, for everyone out there not so experienced in Norse Mythology Loki was a trickster. His mantra to live with no rules seems to guide his constant destruction without a true course. And the people he despises, the schemers, are what he ended up being. Because in his kidnapping and disfigurement of Harvey Dent. He schemes to take down Harvey Dent's reputation. Which he fails at. But I've digressed into a character study.

Harvey Two Face's face was quite amazing especially in the close quarters conversations with Comissioner Gordon and the Joker.

One of the best examples of the Joker's destruction of Gotham is when he blows up the Gotham City General Hospital and the entire building is demolished. I refuse to believe it was real. But it looked so realistic. It had a gritty realism to it.

There was one thing that really struck me as one of the things that I thought I knew. I thought that I saw where Bruce Wayne's priorites were but towards the end of the movie he saved Dent and not Rachel Dawes. Aww I'm doing it again.

Gotham also seemed to be a little more bright and less cluttered than in Batman Begins. And I think that this was something that needed to be done. It made things feel more dynamic. And much of Chicago is evident in the design.

There are even more of Batman's gadgets. Which however unrealistic are, awesome. The Sonar Cell Phones, The Skyhook and of course who could forget The Bat Cycle.

Spoilers End

Okay so The Dark Knight gets a very solid three and a half stars from The Disney Raider. Go see this movie if you have the chance. It truly is epic. But whose going to go see a film based on a Disney Fan's standpoint. The real critics have spoken and said that its a 94% fresh from Rotten Tomatoes.

Journal Entry-- June 18, 2008

My theories about the passes.

The hidden text speaks about dates. The passes are most likely fastpasses from kiosks around the resort. Assuming that all the dates are the same. This means that I haven one day to collect all of the fastpasses. A monumental task indeed.

Journal Entry-- July 15, 2008

Take heed you
Who Have found the secret
Only those who
Hold the date
There is a date
And to hold it
is to hold acess
Acess to the heavenly skies above
In the light

Okay time to analyze

The date must be the same on all the passes. I have some ideas about the passes but that's another point. The last sentence is "In the light" I'm assuming that means the task must be completed in the daylight befored dusk and sunset.

There is a date and to hold it is to hold the acess
